Crucifixion was Rome's punishment for slaves, foreigners and criminals
who were not Roman Citizens. It was the most agonizing an ignominious
death a cruel age could devise. Nails were driven through the hands and
feet, and the victim was left hanging there in agony, starvation, insufferable
thirst, and excruciating convulsions of pain. Death usually followed in
4 to 6 days. In Jesus' case it was over in 6 hours. (John 19:33-34)
Please
read Isaiah 53:1-12
Who
do you think Isaiah was talking about in this chapter? This was 800 or
so years before Jesus was born to a virgin on this earth. How can anyone
deny that this was a prophecy about The Lamb of God (Jesus) who gave his
life as a sacrifice for us. This Jesus was The Lamb of God that would
take the sin debt of all mankind and with the shedding of His own blood
on the cross, He paid for our sins with His own blood so we
could have access to the Father. If we trust and accept Jesus as our personal
savior we have eternal life. 1 John 5: 11, 12,13
The
Bible says in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death (separation
from God), but the gift of god is eternal life through Jesus Christ our
Lord."
Romans
10:9-10 says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus
Christ, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from
the dead, thou shalt be save. For with the heart man believed unto righteousness,
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Now
listen carefully, what Romans 10:13 says is "For whosoever
shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
God
cannot lie. If you call out to him for salvation, He has to save you,
simply because He said He would. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "therefore
if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature; old things are passed away;
Behold all this are become new."
Jesus
said, "All that come to me I will in no wise cast out."
