Jesus Christ was a historical figure, the history of the Bible tells us
so, as other writers like Josephus who mentions Jesus Christ in his writings.
How can we believe there was a person named Christopher Columbus? We have
no problem with that although I've never seen him. How do I know he was
a real person? Usually we just say history tell us because it was written
aboout him.
Then
for God's sake why do we have such a problem about believing there was
a Jesus Christ or the Bible? If you don't understand this then I rest
my case.
Here
are Jesus' appearances after he arose from the grave.
First
Appearance,
To Mary Magdalene, early in the morning (Mark 16:9-10)
Second
Appearance,
To
the other women, early in the morning (Matthew 28:9-10)
Third
Appearance,
To two men on the road to Emmaus (Mark 16:12-13) (Luke 24:13-32)
Fourth
Appearance,
To Peter sometime the same day (Luke 24:34)
Fifth
Appearance,
To the eleven that night (Mark 16:14) (Luke 24:36) (John 20:19)
Sixth
Appearance,
To the eleven a week later with Thomas present (John 20:26-37)
Seventh
Appearance,
To the seven, beside the Sea of Galilee (John 21)
Eighth
Appearance,
To eleven (and 500?) in Galilee (Matthew 28:16-20)
Ninth
Appearance,
To James, time and place unknown (1 Corinthians 15:7)
Tenth,
Final Appearance,
His ascension (Mark 16:19) (Luke 24:44-) (Acts 1:3)
In
the 1 Corinthians 15:5-18, 27 years after the resurrection He (Jesus)
appeared to Paul on the Damascus road. (Acts 9:1-18). If it were
not for Paul we would not have the Gospel in our part of the world.
I
know Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is very much alive. In my darkest hour,
in 1954, in the very town where I know live, this Jesus Christ that most
of the world denies came to me and spoke my name and made Himself known
to me. My life has never been the same since.
2
Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new"
My
friends, why can't you believe in Him? (John 3:16)
